Archiving Member Gift History Over time there will be a number of records in the member gift file. You may see a slow down of processing and screen refresh rates. This process will rollup into one total all gifts from each member for the year entered. After the process is complete the records for the year processed will be removed and lastly the file will be compacted.
The church administration with the advice of your accountant must determine how far back to archive. If the decision is to archive the prior year that years data will not be available for reporting and analysis with the current year. I would suggest you, at the minimum, keep the last three years information so the current year and the last year can be compared using the Report Designer and the Cross Tab Spread Sheet Wizard.
