Archive a Selected Year
This process can not be reversed so we strongly suggest you backup your data. This way if you accidentally archive the wrong year a restore will allow you to start over with the saved data.
If Easy Church Membership is installed on a network all other users must close the application before starting the archive process. The archive function requires exclusive access to all the files. The first test the archive process makes is to get exclusive access to the files. If this fails the process is aborted.
In the event an error occurs that in any way effects the results of the archive the process will abort and reverse any changes that may have been made to all of the data files. We suggest if the process is aborted you restore your backup to make sure you are at the exact moment in time when the archive process was started.
Enter the year to archive then click the Start Archive button. There will be two opportunities to abort starting the process. Once the Yes button is clicked when the second chance is displayer the process will start.
As the process runs the number of records read and the number of records archived will update.
When the process is complete a message will be displayed. The number of records archived is on the screen. Click the Close button to exit the Archive window.
