The term window refers to any defined group of information.   There may be many different types of information on the window but, all windows will have a command button allowing the window to be closed.  The window below is how the program will appear after the password has been properly entered.

A window can be thought of like a piece of paper.   Where the application is a desktop, all of the open windows are like pieces of paper.   These papers can, and will, be on top of one another.   Many windows can be opened while in the program.  If you have a number of windows open the most recently accessed window will be on top.

Windows opened earlier will be underneath and if smaller can be hidden by window on top.   Remember the window that currently has focus will be on top.   To see the list of open windows click on the Window selection from the Main Menu Pull-Down.
