Communicating with Church Members
There are a number of ways to communicate with the members of your church. As you have seen the Family and Members and the Members Only sections have options to print mailing labels, create a mail merge file and email. If you need to email Sunday School class members, committee members or ministry members you can do that too.
But there isn't a way to print mailing labels or create a mail merge file of committee and ministry members. That is until the release of version 2.3! Using our new Mailing Label Picker available for both Committee and Ministry members you can create mailing labels, create a mail merge file and export to MS Excel or one of four other file formats, HTML, ASSCI or Dbase 3.
The Mail Label Picker shown above is for Ministry Members but the format is the same for Committees. The design is similar to the Outreach Team Builder Wizard. The Ministry, or Committee, name is on the left. The members of the selected Ministry are displayed in the center listbox. The right list box contains the names and other information for the members who have been selected for this mailing list.
The buttons in the center are used to add or remove members to the mailing list. An individual may be a member of more than one ministry but can only be added to the mailing list once. Clicking on the double arrow button will move all of the members either to or from the mailing listbox or Ministry Member listbox.
It is not necessary to process the members in the mailing listbox before exiting the Mailing Label Picker. When you exit the entries will be saved in a file. The next time the Mailing Label Picker is opened an option to either keep or remove the existing file is offered. This will allow the list to be worked on over a period of time without loosing the current list.
The options are to print mailing labels, create a mail merge file or export to a MS Excel spread sheet. The mailing label and mail merge options will use the name format you have selected in the Program Defaults window.
