Envelopes Using envelopes is not required. But if your church does decide to do so there are a few things that you must do if you want to generate the envelope numbers. Keep in mind that if you do currently use envelopes you can always enter the envelope number from the Member window and not do all this stuff. This process is really best used after you have some giving history to use when counting the number of envelopes you may need. If you have not history the process will assign every member an envelope number.
Count Envelopes - determine the number of envelopes needed for the next year.
Assign Envelopes - use the criteria saved when the Count Envelope function was run this process will assign envelope numbers starting with the number entered.
Print Envelope Labels - print mailing labels for each box of member envelopes.
Initialize Envelopes - this process will remove last years envelope number and insert the number created in the Assign Envelope process.
Entering Tithes and Offerings - Using the members envelope number to enter their tithes and offerings.
