Pledges

If your church maintain and tracks members pledges this is the place to start.  Entering a members pledge is very straight forward.  The first thing you will have to do is to get each member to fill out a pledge card.  Easy Church Membership can handle multiple pledges per member for different date ranges.  You may only want to record pledges for the general fund from the first Sabbath day of the year to the last.  There may be the need to enter pledges for missions for only part of the year, for example November and December.

Each member must fill out a commitment sheet of some type indicating the fund, the amount, their payment frequency and the date of the first gift.  The date is very important.  The date should be the a Sabbath day.  All remaining pledged gifts for the remainder of the period will be calculated from the first date.  The End Date is calculated by Easy Church Membership and will be the last Sabbath of the current selected year.

Pledge frequency is also important.  When calculating the pledge projection it is very important that the amount being pledged is added on the right Sabbath.  Because your church members get paid on different schedules the member must tell you what that schedule.  Easy Church Membership has the following options:

Alternate Weeks - Once every other week.  Enter the Start Date, Easy Church Membership will calculate the pledge by skipping every other week.
Monthly - The first Sabbath of each month.
One Time - A one time gift.
Quarterly - Every quarter.
Semi Annual - Twice a year.
Twice-Monthly - Some employers pay on the first and the fifteenth.  Easy Church Membership will calculate the date of the first and third Sabbath in the month.
Weekly - Once a week.
Yearly - Once a year.

We believe that the majority of your church members will select Weekly, Twice-Monthly and Monthly.  The others option may be used but much less frequently.

Easy Church Membership can handle as many as you would like.  The fund must exist in the Designated Fund table.

The member must indicate either on his/her check or envelope the amount for the fund so it can be entered properly.
