The default full installation of Easy Church Membership has sample data files. This information allows the application to be viewed as it was designed. To remove these data files and begin entering your own data you must initialize the program.
We have attempted to create our sample database with a simulation of a real, very small church. Our church had their first service on January 1st, 2005. There were not that many members but it did grow. For our sample we maintain and track pledges and giving.
We do not know if we will be able to enter all the sample data we would like before the next release. Our goal is to have data that will allow a church to evaluate Easy Church Membership without entering a lot of information. Time should be spent evaluating and not doing data entry.
When new files have been added, like those related to pledging, a current license holder will have to review the manual very carefully. Because your current data is yours and has no relation to our sample data we do not add these new files.
From the support calls we receive it is apparent that not everyone reads the manual or used the help file. It is important to properly prepare yourself with the necessary knowledge to start on the right foot. We have been told, and received many testimonies, that our programs, including Easy Church Membership is easy to use. But to be productive you need to be informed. That is the purpose of the sample database, this manual and help file.
